Anne Marie is motivated to raise awareness and eradicate stigma associated with addiction. Since Jackie’s death, she has met and connected with so many others who have lost loved ones to this disease. One of these people is Mary Ellen D’Angelo-Lombardi. Anne Marie and Mary Ellen met at a Mercy Street meeting in Plaistow, NH. Mary Ellen came to share her poetry; an expression of the loss of her son’s best friend. Through this meeting came Portraits, Poems, and Heroin.
This book is a collection of 30 poems and 30 of Anne Marie’s portraits. This collaboration is a continuation of Angels of Addictions’ goal; our aim is to put faces and names to the too large numbers of those who have lost their lives due to addiction.
